My name is Kylie Zoller. I’m a mom of two Winchester Public Schools students and a proud Handley graduate running for a Winchester School Board At-Large seat this November.
I believe in strong early childhood education, high expectations for student learning and behavior, as well as meaningful family and community partnerships. My focus is on making sure every student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
I’ve served in AmeriCorps as a Teach For America teacher and have supported children as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Currently, I work directly in homes with Winchester families as a developmental specialist with the Infant and Toddler Early Intervention program. I hold a Master’s in Early Childhood Education and have volunteered with the Budding Scholars Reading Program and Virginia Avenue Charlotte DeHart Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization. I am a member of the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading’s School Readiness Committee, the Special Education Action Committee, Parent Advisory Committee and the Superintendent’s Advisory Council.
WPS serves a highly diverse student population, which means we must give teachers the tools they need to support a wide range of academic, social, and emotional needs.
As a school board member, I will advocate to:
-
1. Give families a voice in student goals
Create a clear, consistent process for families to provide input on measurable and meaningful academic and behavioral goals for their children, so parents are true partners in student success.2. Strengthen communication between teachers and families
Provide incentives and support for teachers to increase individualized communication with families, ensuring parents regularly understand their child’s progress, strengths, and areas of need.3. Build community partnerships to support students
Establish partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and volunteers, so students have access to mentors both in and out of school, helping them build confidence, skills, and real-world connections. -
1. Teach self-regulation and conflict resolution to all students
Establish programs that help students develop self-control, problem-solving skills, and healthy ways to handle conflict.2. Support teachers with better training on student behavior Increase professional development to help teachers identify the causes of student behaviors and use effective, appropriate interventions.
3. Maintain high expectations for student conduct
Set clear and consistent expectations for behavior and peer interactions so students build the skills they need to be successful in school and in the community. -
1. Identify learning and behavior needs early
Support early screening and intervention, so students receive help as soon as their academic, developmental, or behavioral needs are identified.2. Use developmentally appropriate curriculum that builds a love of reading
Prioritize early learning programs that reflect how young children learn best, with a strong focus on early literacy and fostering a lifelong love of reading.3. Expand access to high-quality Pre-K programs
Work to ensure all early learners in the city have access to high-quality pre-kindergarten programs that prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Kylie’s campaign is powered by people like you who believe in a future that puts our community first.
Every dollar you chip in goes directly toward the tools we need to win: reaching more voters, printing materials, and fueling our grassroots organizing efforts across Winchester.
This campaign is powered by people. You can help!
Kylie Zoller is building a campaign powered by people, not special interests—and we need you in the fight.
I want to hear from families, educators, and community members. Your voice matters in shaping the future of our schools, and the health of our city depends on the success of our students.
Together, we can ensure every Winchester student has the opportunities they need to succeed.
